Fall Protection Competent Industrial Rescuer

The Competent Person/Program Administrator training course is designed for managers, immediate supervisors of individuals working at height, safety professionals or other key personnel that are responsible for the supervision, implementation and monitoring of a managed fall protection program. This training includes the 2,5 day (20 hour) Competent Person and Competent Inspector courses.

Descripción general: This course is a pass/fail program, it incorporates extensive classroom and hands-on training and incorporates both written and practical examinations that are based on the requirements of the US OSHA Regulations, the new ANSI Z359.2 standard and CSA.

Students attending this course will expand their knowledge and ability to identify hazardous conditions, develop programs and make equipment selections to properly deal with those hazards. The Program Administrator training builds upon the two and a half day Competent Person course adding in key components that are necessary in the estalishment of fall protection programs and system development. Upon completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements as a Program Administrator and Competent Person. Additionally, upon completion, the students will receive templates to develop a fall protection plan and conduct fall hazard surveys.

The Qualified Person training course is designed for the professional engineer who is charged with the design and installation of horizontal systems, engineered anchorages and specific vertical fall arrest systems.

Descripción general: The Fall Protection Qualified Person course is a combination of theory and practice, building upon a solid base of practical fall protection and expanding upon the design and implementation of fall protection systems. Curriculum details the process and calculations necessary to design a fall arrest system and requires a strong understanding of engineering principals. It is important to note that structural analyses and structural engineering concepts are not taught though they are referenced throughout the course. This is a very involved course, which will expand beyond the skill basics of fall protection and provide the necessary knowledge basis for the development and implementation of fall protection systems.The first 2,5 days of this course will include the prerequisite of Competent Person. Bring your calculator!

Students attending this course will expand their knowledge and ability to identify hazardous conditions, develop OSHA programs and make equipment selections to properly deal with those hazards. This course is a pass/fail program. It incorporates extensive classroom and hands-on training.  Students will become familiar with the standards found in 29 CFR 1926, as well as the tools necessary for future research and problem solving.  Upon completion of this course, the student’s records will be sent to the OSHA Region 6 Education Center and a course completion card will be issued.
